Itinerary of Trek Cusco

This walk starts at 9:00 our transport will pick you up from your Hotel to be transported towards Pucapucara 3773m / 12,378ft; Incan fortress here we can find a nice stonemasonry in a very peculiar style (Incan rosettes), the Andean valley it is going through a Inca path recognizing some Wakas (Inka altars and temples) dedicate to Pachamama “mother nature”, Pumas, Condors, Snakes symbols; all this made in a natural rock formations their figures. At Amarumachay Incan site 3575m / 11,728ft. we will explore the natural rock formation was carved all over its surroundings showing a large amount of stairways, niches, foundations of some other buildings, on the upper side there is an Intiwatana (solar observatory) sculpted in the same rock. In the lower part there is a passage communicating the two faces of this shrine that was carved taking advantage of the natural fault. Besides, there are two carved rooms inside the great rock strictly religious duties. The second room (the upper one) the most important and a great chamber that it is carved the entrance with snake shape (there is a large and a small snake, representing wisdom & knowledge.) Deeper inside there are niches, altar and toward the ceiling an interesting skylight that represent the moon temple. At midnight of full moon closest to the winter solstice (24th June) the cave’s interior is fully illuminated by moonlight. Then following the ancient Inka trail we have another important altar site called Cusilluchayoc, also Wayracpunku area and another Incan site along the Hike.
